TURKEY READY FOR ANY SCENARIODEBKAfile's military sources report that the four-Katyusha rocket volley from south Lebanon which hit Galilee in northern Israel in the small hours of Tuesday, November 29, was initiated by Hizballah commanders in South Lebanon, although it was claimed by the al Qaeda-linked Abdullah Azzam Brigades. Hizballah activated a Palestinian cell it controls in the Ain Hilwa refugee camp near Sidon on behalf of its ally in Damascus, arming the cell with the rockets and marking out their firing positions and targets in Israel's Galilee. One Katyusha blew up near the border, two inside a Galilee moshav damaging a hen coop and a fourth in a wood outside Maalot, causing damage but no injuries. Israeli artillery returned the fire. Officers in the IDF northern command familiar with the terrain across the border, assert that those firing positions are located in a sector under Hizballah's exclusive control. It is off limits to any outsiders without the Iran-backed Shiite group's permission and knowledge. IDF sources read the rocket attack as the Assad regime's last warning to the US, fellow NATO members and Gulf nations that Israel would be first to pay the price for their planned intervention in Syria. It would trigger a Lebanese-Israel border clash, followed by a massive rocket assault on Israel. More Katyusha incidents are therefore to be expected to emphasize the message. In Istanbul meanwhile, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said his government hopes that a military intervention in Syria will never be necessary "but is ready for any scenario." A regime which tortures its own people has no chance of survival, he added. Turkey may consider setting up a buffer zone on its border in co-ordination with the international community in the event of a massive exodus of refugees from Syria, its foreign minister said on Tuesday. This was the first time, DEBKAfile's sources note, that Turkey has publicly declared itself ready for direct military intervention in Syria in addition to providing bases in support of an allied operation. Source: debka.com MORE REPORT: RUSSIA SENT SYRIA SUPER-ADVANCED S-300 MISSILESA report Thursday said that Russia has supplied Syria with advanced S-300 missiles, and has sent advisers to help Syria run the system Russian warships that have reached waters off Syria in recent days were carrying, among other things, Russian technical advisors who will help the Syrians set up an array of S-300 missiles Damascus has received in recent weeks, a report in the London-based Arabic language al Quds-al Arabi said Thursday. Citing sources in Syria and Russia, the paper said that Moscow sees a Western attack on Syria as a “red line” that it will not tolerate. Despite the mounting opposition in the West and even in the Arab world against Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad for his assaults on protesters seeking to unseat him as leader of the country, Russia maintains its support for Assad, the report said. Russian and Syria military officials are working together to maintain Assad's rule, and to deflect a possible attack by NATO or the U.S and EU. Along with the missiles, the report says that Russia has installed advanced radar systems in all key Syrian military and industrial installations. The radar system also covers areas north and south of Syria, where it will be able to detect movement of troops or aircraft towards the Syrian border. The radar targets include much of Israel, as well as the Incirlik military base in Turkey, which is used by NATO. The S-300 system is regarded as one of the most potent anti-aircraft missile systems available. The system's radar is able to simultaneously track up to 100 targets while engaging up to 12. Deployment time for the S-300 is five minutes, and they have a very long life span, with no maintenance needed. Russia had attempted to sell the system to Iran, but that sale was cancelled due to pressure by the U.S. and Israel, with Russia returning Iran's deposit. According to the report, the Iranians paid for Syria's S-300 missile system. It is not known if some of the missiles have reached Iran as well. Now the question is whether the Iranians will retaliate. At the time of the explosions, Iranians found themselves wondering if Israel had attacked. The International Atomic Energy Agency's recent report on Iran's nuclear weapons program and the warnings of military action by Israeli officials have alarmed Iranians about the possibility of war. The simultaneous explosions, which hit the Iranian Revolutionary Guards' base 28 miles west of Tehran, not only shook the surrounding area but were heard and felt throughout Tehran, even breaking car and building windows. Revolutionary Guard officials soon announced that the explosions occurred at one of their ammunition depots while ammunition was being moved and claimed at first that 15 people were killed. Iran's state-owned media rapidly changed the story multiple times on the number of fatalities and the cause of the incidents, but they all ruled out the possibility of a plot and stated that the explosions had nothing to do with Iran's nuclear program. Then they announced that Brig. Gen. Hassan Tehrani-Moghadam, the "architect of Iran’s missile program," was one of those killed. The shock was palpable among the Iranian leaders, and soon sources within Iran revealed that the correct number of casualties was well over 100. It also was reported that right after the explosions, tanks and armored vehicles mobilized in and around Tehran and in other provinces . . . . Sources within Iran also indicate that Khamenei may have been the target of the explosion. At the time, he was scheduled to arrive at the site to witness the Guards' advancements. If true, this shows deep infiltration within the Iranian leadership and a direct warning that assassination of the highest ranks in Iran is on the table. Led by Senator Carl Levin, the Michigan Democrat who chairs the Senate Armed Services Committee, senators voted 61-37 to preserve the language that gives the military custody of al Qaeda suspects, rather than turning them over to law enforcement officials. “We are at war with al Qaeda and people determined to be part of al Qaeda should be treated as people who are at war with us,” Mr. Levin said. He and Arizona senator John McCain, the ranking Republican on his committee, had struck a deal earlier this month on giving the military priority custody, while allowing the administration to waive that and give civilian authorities priority if it deems the waiver in the interests of national security. The White House and its Senate allies objected and tried to block the changes, instead calling for the issue to be studied further. They argued giving the military priority could complicate investigations into terrorist suspects in the U.S., and said it opens the door to indefinite military detention of U.S. citizens. “We’re ignoring the advice and the input of the director of the FBI, the director of our intelligence community, the attorney general of the United States,” said Senator Mark Udall, Colorado Democrat, who led the effort to block the compromise. The White House earlier had threatened to veto the bill over the provisions, saying they amounted to an effort to micromanage the war on terror. “Any bill that challenges or constrains the president’s critical authorities to collect intelligence, incapacitate dangerous terrorists and protect the nation would prompt the president’s senior advisers to recommend a veto,” the White House said in a statement. But 16 Democrats, one independent and 44 Republicans joined together to defy Mr. Obama’s threat. Two Republicans - Senators Rand Paul of Kentucky and Mark Steven Kirk of Illinois - voted to strip out the detainee language. The fight was part of a broader debate over the annual defense policy bill, which is considered one of the few must-pass pieces of legislation Congress considers each year. The House has already passed its version with strict detainee language, so the Senate vote makes it likely whatever final bill reaches the president’s desk will contain the provision. Young men chanting "Death to Britain" entered both properties, trashing offices, stealing documents and violently defying police efforts to remove them for several hours, according to an AFP journalist and Iranian media. Six diplomats sequestered for more than two hours inside a building in Britain's diplomatic compound in the north of the capital by hundreds of protesters were finally freed when diplomatic police intervened, the Fars news agency reported. Inside the embassy in the city centre, several protesters scattered documents and set them alight, witnesses told AFP. One protester was seen looting a portrait of Britain's queen. The incursions, which took place during protests planned days in advance, only came to an end late Tuesday when special police units were deployed. Britain said it took the storming of its embassy "extremely seriously" and warned of "further and serious consequences" for Iran. "We hold the Iranian government responsible for its failure to take adequate measures to protect our embassy, as it is required to do," British Foreign Minister William Hague said in a statement after a meeting of the government's crisis committee chaired by Prime Minister David Cameron. Hague said that although the Iranian foreign minister had apologised for the incidents, "this remains a very serious failure by the Iranian government." The source said that Iranian missile makers would not be seeking this highly specialized material "unless they had sufficient PU-239 to assemble as many delivery systems as they had completed, or nearly completed warheads." PU-239 is the primary fissile isotope needed to produce nuclear weapons. It also can be used as fuel in nuclear reactors. MORE EYE WITNESSES CLAIM 'UNUSUAL' MOVEMENT OF ISRAELI MISSILES JERUSALEM -- Multiple eyewitnesses reported seeing Israeli military trucks in recent days transport and station large missiles at the periphery of Jerusalem and in locations inside the West Bank. The descriptions of the projectiles are consistent with the Jewish state’s mid-to-long range Jericho ballistic missiles. The missile movement, if confirmed, would be considered unusual. One of the eyewitnesses was a member of the Palestinian Authority security services. He claimed to me that a large missile was stationed five days ago near Neve Yaacov, a Jewish neighborhood in northeast Jerusalem. That neighborhood is adjacent to several Palestinian-inhabited towns. Four other eyewitnesses, Israeli and Palestinian, reported seeing similar sights during the past week – large missiles being transported by the Israeli military at the periphery of Jerusalem and in the West Bank . . . The PA security member, speaking on condition of anonymity, speculated the missiles were related to a possible Israeli offensive against Iran. He commented that such missiles were offensive in nature, and usually not meant to serve as defensive posture. MORE IRAN NAVY TO HOLD EXERCISE IN INTERNATIONAL WATERS Iran’s navy plans to hold the massive Velayat 90 naval exercise in the Sea of Oman and north Indian Ocean in the near future in order to display Iran’s defensive and deterrent naval power, its navy chief says. The exercise will be different to those held previously due to the scale of equipment and larger exercise theatre, according to Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari. It is expected that the Iranian Navy will deploy destroyers, missile-launchers, heavy and light submarines and aircraft for the exercise, as occurred during Velayat 89 in May last year. At a press conference on Saturday Sayyari said that Iran’s Navy will take delivery of three domestically manufactured light submarines of the Ghadir class today, which is National Navy Day . . . At the moment Iran’s navy is relatively small, as it has been designed for securing ports and coastal regions. The ocean going fleet comprises a half-dozen small frigates and destroyers from 1,500 to 2,000 tons, and three submarines of the 3,000 ton Kilo class, purchased from Russia in the 1990s. However, Iran is working on building indigenous ships, including frigates, and small submarines. It is also working on missile technology, notably in collaboration with China. MORE PALESTINIANS TRY TO RESURRECT A U.N. RESOLUTION THEY VIOLENTLY REJECTED 64 YEARS AGO (CNS News) -- As the U.N. Tuesday marked its annual day of “solidarity” with the Palestinian cause, the Palestine Liberation Organization took the opportunity once again to promote a 1947 U.N. resolution that divided the territory between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River into a Jewish state and an Arab one. Palestinian leaders periodically try to resurrect U.N. General Assembly resolution 181 – also known as the Partition Plan - in support of their demands for territory and control over Jerusalem. In a statement released by the PLO’s Department of Culture and Information, PLO executive member Hanan Ashrawi said resolution 181 “represent[s] the basis of any solution in the future,” and [she] accused Israel of failing to adhere to it. As part of the Partition Plan, Jerusalem would belong to neither of the envisaged states but would fall under U.N. administration and be demilitarized. Unmentioned in Ashrawi’s statement was the fact Arab and Palestinian leaders rejected the proposal at the time. Jewish leaders accepted it – reluctantly, since the prescribed Jewish statehood area was made up of three segments of territory, the largest comprising arid and sparsely-inhabited desert. Violence erupted after the resolution was passed. And immediately after Jewish leaders declared statehood the following spring, five Arab armies attacked the new state in what Arab League head Azzam Pasha described as “a war of annihilation.” . . . MORE AFTER PAKISTAN CLOSES U.S. SUPPLY ROUTES TO AFGHANISTAN, RUSSIA WARNS ABOUT THE NORTHERN ROUTE, TOO (CNS News) -- Ratcheting up a dispute with Washington over plans for a NATO European missile defense system, a senior Russian official has warned that his country may stop cooperating with the alliance over a crucial supply link to Afghanistan. The Interfax news agency quoted Russian Ambassador to NATO Dmitry Rogozin as telling national lawmakers in Moscow that if NATO does not respond to Russia’s concerns about missile defense, “We will have to link them with other matters … this could include Afghanistan.” The timing of the implied threat could hardly be worse for the United States, given Pakistan’s decision this week to suspend supplies to NATO forces in response a lethal Nov. 26 airstrike along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, now under NATO and U.S. investigation. Almost half of the supplies bound for the around 131,000 NATO-led troops in landlocked Afghanistan, including more than 90,000 Americans, moves through Pakistan, most by truck from the port of Karachi. State Department spokesman Mark Toner confirmed Monday that the supply routes have been closed. MORE RUSSIA ACTIVATES MISSILE WARNING SYSTEM NEAR EU MOSCOW -- Russia on Tuesday activated a radar warning system against incoming missiles in its exclave of Kaliningrad on the borders of the EU, in response to Western plans for a US missile shield in Europe. President Dmitry Medvedev announced that the Voronezh-DM station was moving on to immediate combat readiness, days after threatening to deploy missiles in Kaliningrad amid a growing dispute with the West. "I expect that this step will be seen by our partners as the first signal of the readiness of our country to make an adequate response to the threats which the (Western) missile shield poses for our strategic nuclear forces," Medvedev said. Using rhetoric reminiscent of the Cold War, he added: "If this signal is not heard, we will deploy other methods of protection including the taking of tough countermeasures and the deployment of strike forces." Medvedev said last week Russia was prepared to deploy Iskander missiles, which officials say have a range of up to 500 kilometres (310 miles), in the Kaliningrad exclave that borders EU members Poland and Lithuania. MORE 'SOPHISTICATED' DRUG-SMUGGLING TUNNEL FOUND AT U.S.-MEXICO BORDER SAN DIEGO (AP) -- U.S. authorities have discovered a major cross-border tunnel, the latest in a spate of secret passages found to smuggle drugs from Mexico. "It is clearly the most sophisticated, major tunnel that we have found in the last five years, perhaps ever," said Lauren Mack, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in San Diego. More details were expected Wednesday. The tunnel discovered Tuesday links warehouses in San Diego and Tijuana, authorities said. Mexican soldiers found the entrance on the south side of the border at a Tijuana warehouse after the U.S. opening was discovered. A photo released by U.S. authorities shows a hydraulic lift inside the Tijuana building. MORE MORE KIDS SKIP SCHOOL SHOTS IN 8 STATES ATLANTA (AP) -- A rising number of parents in more than half of states are opting out of school shots for their kids. And in eight states, more than 1 in 20 public school kindergartners do not get all the vaccines required for attendance, an Associated Press analysis found. That has health officials worried about possible new outbreaks of diseases that were all but stamped out. The AP analysis found more than half of states have seen at least a slight rise in the rate of exemptions over the past five years. States with the highest exemption rates are in the West and Upper Midwest . . . Rules for exemptions vary by state and can include medical, religious or - in some states - philosophical reasons. Parents' reasons for skipping the shots vary. Some doubt that vaccines are essential. Others fear that vaccines carry their own risks. And some find it easier to check a box opting out than to get the shots and required paperwork. Still others are ambivalent, believing in older vaccines but questioning newer shots against, say, chickenpox. The number of shots is also giving some parents pause. By the time most children are 6, they will have been stuck with a needle about two dozen times - with many of those shots given in infancy. The cumulative effect of all those shots has not been studied enough, some parents say . . .To be sure, childhood vaccination rates remain high overall, at 90 percent or better for several vaccines, including those for polio, measles, hepatitis B and chickenpox. Rick Schiff, an 11 year veteran of the Tampa Police Dept. testified before a US Congressional hearing on Feb. 29, 1996 about losing one twin daughter to a highly malignant brain tumor that traveled throughout her brain and spine. Doctors said they had two options: take her home and let her die, or use massive doses of chemo and radiation simultaneously. In either event she was going to die - and very quickly. The Schiffs agreed to the therapy. Six months later, she was still alive - and still dying of cancer. Schiff and his wife began digging for alternatives. They found Dr. Stanislaw Burzynski. Eighteen months later, after being treated by Dr. Burzynski, she was still alive - and she was cancer free. A new tumor showed up. Against the advise of their local oncologist who insisted Burzynski's treatment failed, they put her back on Burzynski's treatment. In 9 weeks, the tumor was completely gone. Schiff's daughter died in July, 1995 of neurological necrosis. Her brain simply fell apart from the prolonged use of radiation. The autopsy showed she was completely cancer-free. Out of 52 case of that disease - ever, no one died cancer-free, just Chrissie Schiff. Schiff told Congress that she didn't die of a terminal illness. She died, he said "...of my inability to care for her properly. She died from bad advise. She died because there is a government institution that disseminates false information and is not looking out for the best interests of the people." . . . . Under the Burzynski protocol, the approved gene therapy drugs are customized based on the molecular characteristic of that patient's genes and the cancer itself. While the medical community today is just beginning to explore this technology, Dr. Burzynski has been practicing it for almost two decades - one of them in court fighting the FDA and the Texas Medical Board. The Texas Medical Board has been trying since 1986 to revoke Burzynski's medical license for, I guess, curing cancer instead of just treating it like the rest of the medical community. [On] a secular show out of Portland, Maine I was discussing the condition of the public school system . . . . . . . A paraphrase of [one caller’s] argument went something like this: “Coach, it bothers me that you are saying such bad things about our schools. Our family is Catholic, we have our children in church and we send them to our local public schools. I know many of the teachers there and they are wonderful, caring people. I don’t know why you are so down on schools. Our schools do a good job.” . . . . . . . I have learned that the best way to teach is to ask questions. This exposes a listener’s belief system, and provides an opportunity to lead them to Truth. So, instead of whacking her on the head with my Bible, or showing her how smart I was, I simply asked her this question: “Julie, could your children recite the first 10 amendments to the Constitution?” “Probably not,” came her sheepish reply. “I’m not sure I could” “Well Julie, do you think they should be able to? Don’t you think that is more important than learning how to put on a condom?” It was as if all Maine suddenly gone silent. Nothing more needed to be said. Everyone listening had to answer that question … and the subsequent unspoken question that followed. “Yeah! Why don’t they know the Bill of Rights?” Good schools, huh? Compared to what? . . . . How can a Christian parent, and even worse, Christian pastors, support an educational system that teaches the direct opposite of everything that they teach in Church? Think I’m crazy? I guess it is time for a few questions. · Do you believe God created you? What does your school teach? · Do you believe in abstinence? What does your school teach? · Do you believe that homosexuality is normal? What does your school teach? . . . · Do you believe in absolute Truth? What does your school teach? · Do you believe our rights come from government? What does your school teach? . . . · Do you believe that God is the ultimate authority? What does your school teach? . . . . Here is a short test for you. When your child comes home tonight, ask him [or] her this question: Should abortion be legal, and why or why not? My bet is they will respond like good little humanists, “I would never have one, but who am I to say what is right for someone else?” There it is, you see. What is right for me, may not be right for you. Moral relativism, no absolute Truth, “everyone doing what is right in His own eyes.” [Judges 17:6] As harsh as this may sound in today’s Dr. Phil-America, it really doesn’t matter what you think. What matters is what God thinks. It is time our churches lead the return to the teaching of Truth. Truth is not an opinion, and it is time that Christians said so. Let’s get away from the youth-group model that is shaped by the world. Let’s stop trying so hard to entertain. Let’s start training. If it is true that most of the Gospel-sharing is done one on one, isn’t it time we equipped our kids to do some real evangelism? Do our kids know what God thinks? Do they know why some things are right and some things are wrong? Do they know that the Gospel requires more than “being nice”? Truth has fallen and we must raise the standard once again. If that is the case, then instead of asking for volunteerism, I would urgently suggest that you are running out of time to recognize that God is able to do everything He has promised, as the gospel of doubt that has leavened the so called "church," has delivered the multitude into the hands of the deceiver. Perhaps the better question is, do you believe that God is able to raise up a Remnant who will instruct the multitude, or not? See Daniel 11:33 for the answer. However, regardless of what you believe, the Scriptures cannot be broken, and those who are ordained to hear the truth will hear it, and those who are not will not. We will continue to send these little epistles out, but you have the opportunity to be a part of it. With just a bit of organizing and planning, you can make a real difference in someone else's life, and it doesn't cost a cent - all it takes is a bit of your time.
