The Writer-Director Diploma is designed for filmmakers who are ready to develop their first feature film project.

LFA ON LOCATION IN ALGARVE :: SUMMER SCHOOL
Our On Location training will take place in the Algarve, the southern-most region of mainland Portugal. Due to its all-year-round mild weather, the Algarve is one of the most attractive areas in the Mediterranean for filming, and so having a place in the sun all shoots on this summer Filmmaking Foundation will take place outside.

I'd just like to take this online oppurtunity to thank the LFA for inspiring me to go ahead and get into film-making for myself, regardless of the risks involved. It was my involvement in the Film-making Certificate course last summer that gave me the basic ground knowledge and practical skills required to go ahead with a career in film, as well as introducing me to a lot of really amazing people, both students and staff who were there at the time. I look forward to all future film projects in which I might well be collaborating with many of them, seeing as I already have done on several projects since the day we all bid farewell at the end of last August.

GOLDEN PALM AWARD IN MEXICO FOR LFA FILM
Diploma student film Into the light, directed by Alice Caronna (Dip 12), was awarded the Golden Palm Award at the 2009 Mexico International Film Festival. The judges commented that the film "demonstrated superior and standout filmmaking and deserved a special recognition". The film was also recently screened at the 5th West Chester Film Festival (Pennsylvania USA) April 09 (Official Selection, in competition)
